2017 History Of Ice Hockey Connected Pair of "Forever" Postage Stamps - MNH, OG - Sc# 5252-5253

On October 20, 2017, in Detroit, MI, the U.S. Postal Service issued The History of Hockey stamps in two designs. This was a joint issue with Canada Post, who issued their stamps on the same day. With the issuance of these two se-tenant stamps, the U.S. Postal Service and Canada Post join in celebrating ice hockey, the fast-paced sport played on frozen ponds and in rinks across North America. One of the issue's two stamps portrays a modern hockey player skating on a pond in present day. The second stamp pictures a vintage player, who represents the game's past, set against a snowy background.
