2007 Oklahoma Statehood Plate Block of 4 39c Postage Stamps - MNH, OG - Sc# 4121
On January 11, 2007 in Oklahoma City, OK; the USPS issued this 39 cent stamp of Oklahoma celebrating its 100th year of statehood. Depicted here is the Cimarron River as painted by Mike Larsen. Oklahoma, added as a territory to the U.S. with the 1803 Louisiana Purchase, began as a resettlement area for Native Americans. With westward expansion, white settlers moved into the territory. In 1907, Oklahoma became the 46th state in the Union.
