2001 President James Madison Plate Block of 4 34c Postage Stamps - MNH, OG - Sc# 3545
On October 18, 2001 in New York, NY; the USPS honored the fourth President of the United States, James Madison. He was the principle author of the U.S. Constitution and the author of the U.S. Bill of Rights. Madison, known as "The Father of the Constitution", drafted the first ten amendments to the Constitution, and was instrumental in forming the Republican Party along with Thomas Jefferson.
