1997 Pacific 97 Ben Franklin Replica Stamp Sheet Of 12 50c Postage Stamps MNH, OG - Sc # 3139 - (CW54)
This stamp set celebrates the Pacific 97 Stamp show held in San Francisco. The show coincided with the 150th anniversary of the issue of America's first postage stamps. To mark this important anniversary, the USPS also issued two souvenir sheets reproducing the designs of the USA's first and second US stamps at the show. In fact, they announced early in the year that the stamps would only be available for sale at the 11-day stamp show - the shortest sale period in history. This is a replica of the first USA stamp. Number 3140 is a replica of the second.
