1990 Indian Headdresses Booklet Pane of 10 25c Postage Stamps - MNH, OG - Sc# 2501-2505

On August 17, 1990 in Cody WY., the USPS issued the first stamps in the Folk Art Series as booklets. Headdresses, also called war-bonnets, of the Assiniboine, Cheyenne, Comanche, Flathead, and Shoshone tribes are featured on these stamps. The headdresses were prized personal possessions, generally created by the warrior himself, and were usually buried with their owner at death. The headdresses were made from such materials as eagle and turkey feathers, beads, fur, hair tassels, and animal skins.

These are real USPS postage stamps that are accepted by the USA Postal Service as payment for mail posted in the USA however the total rates on the stamps posted must equal or exceed the current appropriate postal mailing rate or extra postage must be paid.

The stamp set shown in the picture is a stock photo and is likely not a picture of the exact stamp set you will receive and it may differ in plate number and/or orientation.
