In 1983 the USPS issued this Se-Tenant of four 20 cents stamps, featuring America's first form of mass transportation. The first streetcar, the "John Mason," resembled a small railroad car with a seat, and it was pulled by horse. Electric Streetcars were introduced in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1886. "Bobtail" was the last horse-drawn streetcar to be removed from service. The St. Charles Streetcar in New Orleans is the oldest line still operating today. Depicted are: First American Streetcar "John Mason" 1832 New York City, Bobtail Horsecar 1926 Sulphur Rock, Arkansas. Early Electric Streetcar 1886 Montgomery Alabama, and the St. Charles Streetcar 1923 New Orleans Louisiana

These are real USPS postage stamps that are accepted by the USA Postal Service as payment for mail posted in the USA however the total rates on the stamps posted must equal or exceed the current appropriate postal mailing rate or extra postage must be paid.
