1978 Indian Head Penny Plate Block of 4 13c Postage Stamps - MNH, OG - Sc# 1734
Issued on January 11, 1978 in Kansas City, MO., the USPS experimented with this "midget" stamp, to lower production costs and increase output. The smaller image area, which was about 1/3 smaller than usual, provided for 150 stamps per pane instead of the usual 100. This unique issue pictures the 1877 Indian Head Penny, a prized collector coin.
These are real USPS postage stamps that are accepted by the USA Postal Service as payment for mail posted in the USA however the total rates on the stamps posted must equal or exceed the current appropriate postal mailing rate or extra postage must be paid.
