On June 17, 1975 in Charleston, MA., the USPS issued this 10 cent stamp in remembrance of The Battle of Bunker Hill, the first major confrontation between American and British forces in the Revolutionary War. One thousand British soldiers and one eighth of all enemy officers were lost in that battle. The British finally won - when the Americans ran out of gun powder
