U.S. #1078 1956 3 Pronghorn Antelope Wildlife Conservation Issue Date: June 22, 1956 City: Gunnison, Colorado Quantity: 123,138,800 Printed by: Bureau of Engraving and Printing Printing Method: Rotary Press Perforations: 11 x 10 ½ Color: Brown U.S. #1078 was the second of three stamps commemorating Wildlife Conservation in America. It was released at the annual convention of the Colorado division of the Izaak Walton League, an environmental organization founded in 1922. The league promotes the protection of natural resources, as well as outdoor recreation.
