Attractive registered airmail cover sent via Pan American Clipper from Manila, Philippine Islands to Scranton, Pennsylvania, dated August 4, 1936 - early in the commercial trans-Pacific Clipper service inaugurated in late 1935.

Franking: Mailed on a 2-centavo Philippine Islands imprinted stamped envelope with three additional 50-centavo and one 20-centavo Commonwealth of the Philippines stamps affixed, totaling 172 centavos - correctly rating the Clipper airmail and registration fees.

Markings: Boxed purple VIA CLIPPER cachet, handwritten notation "by Registered Clipper Airmail," and Manila registration label No. 26009. Manila Post Office Registry Section cancel on front dated August 4, 1936.

Transit backstamps: Three clear receiving cancels on reverse - Manila Registry Section (Aug 4), San Francisco Rec. Reg. (Aug 11), and Scranton PA Registered (Aug 18) - documenting the complete 14-day Manila-to-Scranton routing.

Sender: Dr. A.S. Perez, Bureau of Education, Manila P.I. - addressed to Mr. Robert J. Perez, 1033 Taylor Ave, Scranton PA.

Condition: Overall very good with expected handling folds; cancels sharp and fully legible, registration label intact, franking complete and undamaged.
