Scarce Canadian destination cover bearing the Lakehurst, N.J. arrival cancel of May 9, 1936, 6:30 AM - the morning the Hindenburg completed her inaugural westbound crossing to North America. Features an elaborate illustrated cachet welcoming the LZ-129 Hindenburg on her first trip to North America, with airship vignette, combined with the "Moose Jaw - The Friendly City" promotional cachet along the lower edge - suggesting this was prepared as a civic event cover by Moose Jaw interests. Franked with the 6¢ Winged Globe airmail stamp (Scott C19) on a Canadian Post Office approved airmail envelope. Addressed to Mr. W.A. Cooper, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Return address of Harold C. Denegar, Asbury Park, N.J., a documented Hindenburg cover producer.

Condition: Excellent overall. Front bright with strong cachet impressions. Back clean with no flap staining - better than average for these covers. Minor handling wear consistent with age.
