1928 LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin First Transatlantic Flight Postal Card - New York to Friedrichshagen, Berlin, with C8 and C10 Pairs

Striking postal card carried on the Graf Zeppelin's historic inaugural eastbound transatlantic crossing, canceled New York October 27, 1928 and backstamped Friedrichshafen am Bodensee November 1, 1928 - one of the clearest and most complete arrival backstamps encountered on this flight. Bears the large purple oval "First Flight Air Mail / Via Graf Zeppelin / United States - Germany / Oct 28 1928" cachet with handwritten "Via LZ 127" endorsement. Addressed to Berlin, Germany.

Franked with a pair of 15¢ Map airmail (Scott C8) and a pair of 10¢ Lindbergh airmail (Scott C10) plus the 3¢ McKinley printed postal card stamp - totaling the correct 53¢ Graf Zeppelin postcard rate. The use of pairs rather than singles gives this card a bold and visually dramatic stamp presentation seldom seen on Zeppelin postal cards.

Condition: Overall good with toning and light soiling consistent with age. Friedrichshafen am Bodensee backstamp exceptionally clear. A visually appealing example of the correct 53¢ postcard rate on this historic flight.
