1928 LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin First Transatlantic Flight Postal Card - New York to Leipzig, Germany

Genuine flight postal card carried on the Graf Zeppelin's historic inaugural eastbound transatlantic crossing, canceled New York October 1928 and backstamped Friedrichshafen on arrival - confirming actual carriage. Bears the large purple oval "First Flight Air Mail / Via Graf Zeppelin / United States - Germany / Oct 28 1928" cachet with handwritten "By Air Ship Graf Zeppelin" endorsement. Addressed to Herrn Ernst Otto, Leipzig, Germany.

Franked to meet the correct 53¢ Graf Zeppelin postcard rate via the 1¢ printed stamp on the postal card itself plus the 50¢ Arlington Amphitheater (Scott 570) and 2¢ Molly Pitcher overprint (Scott 646) added in the upper right. The 50¢ Arlington is an unusually handsome high-value stamp seldom seen on Zeppelin postal cards. From George E. Reynolds, Howard Beach, New York - an individual collector rather than a cover producer, giving this piece a personal authenticity.

Condition: Overall good with light soiling and edge wear consistent with age. Friedrichshafen backstamp present. A solid example of the correct 53¢ postcard rate on this historic flight.
