1927 Early Airmail Cover Port au Prince Haiti to Santo Domingo Dominican Rep

Early Caribbean airmail cover, July 18, 1927, flown from Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic - predating the establishment of Pan American Airways' FAM Route 6 by nearly two years, making this a scarce example of pioneer Caribbean airmail service. Franked with the 50 centimes Haitian portrait definitive, tied by Port-au-Prince circular datestamp. "Par avion" (By Air Mail) notation in manuscript upper left. Pink vertical "Poste" handstamp and blue diamond-shaped airmail routing handstamp also present on face. Addressed in elegant handwriting to Mr. E.A. Colson, Santo Domingo. Cataloged as W1-2A in West Indian airmail references.

Reverse bears Santo Domingo arrival backstamp dated July 19, 1927 - next-day delivery from Haiti to the Dominican Republic in 1927, a remarkable transit time for pioneer airmail service in the region. Reverse is exceptionally clean and fresh. Overall a very presentable example in better than typical condition for early Caribbean airmail.

A genuinely scarce piece of pre-FAM Caribbean aviation postal history.
