Accompanied by the original two-page letter, dated Arroyo Grande, July 19, 1891, signed by S. C. Records. Content covers a lost trunk being traced by the railroad company, a horse/mare trading negotiation (referencing J. W. Horshead of Washington St., San Francisco, and an offer to arrange "about 20 head"), and local news: the deaths of "Lin Gibson or McGlashan" (leaving a ten-day-old baby) and Burt Vangundy, a poor bean crop that year, Arthur Hawkins quitting "the road," and a visiting Whittemore up from Lompoc.

A nice content piece combining California livestock trade correspondence with local social history and news of the day.
