In 2001 the USPS issued this 34 cent celebrating the centennial of the Nobel Prize. Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite, bequeathed the bulk of his fortune to establish the Prize which bears his name. The Nobel Foundation bestows awards in the fields of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, peace, and economics. More than 250 Americans have been honored with Nobel Prizes.
These are real USPS postage stamps that are accepted by the USA Postal Service as payment for mail posted in the USA however the total rates on the stamps posted must equal or exceed the current appropriate postal mailing rate or extra postage must be paid.
