On July 15, 1980 in New Orleans, Louisiana; the Post Office Department celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Mobile. Where in 1780 General Bernardo de Galvez, the governor of Spanish Louisiana, captured control of Mobile (then British West Florida) from the British.
