
1976 Commercial Aviation Plate Block of 10 13c Postage Stamps - MNH, OG - Sc# 1684
This stamp was issued in 1976 honoring the 50th Anniversary of U.S. Commercial Aviation (1926-1976). Illustrated on this stamp are the first two airplanes used to carry U.S. Air Mail under contract: Ford-Stout AT-2 (upper) and Laird Swallow (lower). Route CAM-6 (Detroit-Cleveland) and Route CAM-7 (Detroit-Chicago) were inaugurated using the AT-2 on February 15, 1926, and route CAM-5 (Pasco, WA to Elko, NV) using the Swallow on April 6, 1926.
